Calciphylaxis
Expanded Description
Calciphylaxis is a blockage in one’s blood vessels caused by a build-up of calcium in the vessel walls. This prevents blood from flowing to the skin or internal organs, damaging healthy tissue and causing it to die. (ORDR) A rare and serious disease, it is fatal to many individuals only a few months after diagnosis because of the infection that spreads through the body or organ failure
(ORDR). This disease is seen almost exclusively in patients with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease. (Wikipedia)
