DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

There are several test options available to test for Calciphylaxis. Out of these options, biopsies can be effective, but obtaining a sample of an appropriate size can put the patient at an increased risk. Laboratory testing is a steadier form of testing for this disease, and tests include the sampling of the patient’s serum for calcium levels. Imaging can also be used, as patients with Calciphylaxis often have a distinctive network of calcified blood vessels. (Medscape)
